Course Description
Dr. Teresa Johnson describes nutritional goals and challenges for adults being treated for head and neck cancer, and identifies evidence-based nutrition support interventions, including the use of immunonutrition and blenderized tube feeding (BTF). Dr. Johnson also shares her own research on BTF in the head and neck patient, as well as new data on lower health care resource utilization being associated with use of BTF formulas in oncology patients.

1. State the most common categories of adult head and neck cancer (HNC), and associated treatment modalities
2. Describe nutritional challenges and goals in HNC
3. Identify evidence-based enteral nutrition support interventions in HNC
4. List improved outcomes of blenderized tube feeding (BTF) use in HNC based on the scientific literature
