Course Description

This presentation describes the evolution of blenderized tube feeding formulas, as well as the latest evidence to support the use of real food containing formulas to provide complete nutrition to patients with feeding tubes. Options surrounding the use of real food for people receiving tube feeding at home, including the use of commercially available real food tube feeding formulas is presented to assist healthcare professionals who work closely with patients looking for a more natural approach to their nutrition intake.     • Discuss the differences and similarities in diagnosis and intervention for Persistent Inflammation, Immunosuppression and Catabolic . Syndrome (PICS) and Post Intensive Care Syndrome-Survivors (PICS-S).

    • Identify the importance and role of nutrition in PICS and PICS-S management.
