Objectives:

  1. Describe key immunonutrients and their proposed roles in immune and metabolic support during surgical stress.

  2. Identify surgical and non-surgical patient populations that would benefit most from immunonutrition based on current evidence and guidelines.

  3. Implement evidence-based immunonutrition strategies into surgical nutrition care plans.
