About this Webinar

By mid-to-late 2025, about 12.4 percent of U.S. adults reported taking GLP-1 medicines specifically for weight loss, compared to 5.8 percent in February 2024. While these drugs are highly effective for managing weight, challenges may arise if lifestyle changes aren't included in treatment plans.  This 30-minute podcast will share insights from a recent expert consensus panel publication: “Nutrition and Lifestyle Supportive Care Recommendations for Management of Obesity with GLP-1 based Therapies: An expert Consensus statement using a modified Delphi Approach.”  Co-author Linda Gigliotti will outline priorities for nutritional management of patients treated with GLP-1 based therapies, describe dietary strategies to help manage common gastrointestinal side effects, and identify lifestyle interventions highlighted by the panel to help optimize outcomes throughout the weight loss and weight maintenance journey.

Objectives:

1. Outline priorities for nutritional management of patients treated with GLP-1 based therapies.

2. Discuss common GLP-1-based side effects and describe dietary strategies to help manage the symptoms.

3. Identify lifestyle interventions to help optimize positive health outcomes when using GLP-1 based therapies.
